Let's make our community a better and cleaner place by adopting a street(s)!
WHAT IS THE ADOPT-1-STREET PROGRAM?
Are you just tired of seeing litter, bulk items and graffiti on our streets? Join the group who feels the same way, but is going to do something about it!
Join volunteering individuals and groups from all over our community who have pledged to help keep our city clean and green!
Even if you already clean your streets, please sign up so the we have confirmation for the city that its citizens are keeping it clean and litter-free.
As an Adopt-1-Street volunteer you are able to "adopt" an area that you are committed to keeping litter free for a period of one (1) year. By keeping your street(s) litter free you are improving the appearance, property values, and attractiveness of our city.
You will also be helping to reduce environmental pollution and prevent crime associated with an un-kept community.
What you will be responsible for:
- Picking up litter, including cigarette butts, from the streets, curbs and sidewalk area
- Noting any graffiti and reporting it to us and using MyLA311 App
- Noting any bulky, discarded items on the sidewalks and reporting it using the MyLA311 App
- Noting any vandalism in signs, electric poles, etc. and reporting it to us
You will select the street(s) that you would like to be responsible for – probably one that you walk anyway for exercise or when taking your pet out. It can be one street, however we would like you to adopt a block - this would include 4 streets (2 east and west boundaries / 2 north and south boundaries – a block).
We will provide you with a "Starter Kit": a grabber and initial bags for your clean up. Additional supplies can be ordered at a nominal cost.
On the website, you will report your progress – how many bags you pick up and anything that you have to report within your adopted area.
Your name will be put into a drawing, once a month. The more times you report clean ups, the more chances you have to win in the drawing.
Together we can make sure the streets of our community are kept clean, safe and visually beautiful!

Complete the Waiver to register you, your organization, your business, etc. and specify the street(s) that you want to adopt.
Equipment Order Form
Complete the Equipment Order Form for your initial "Starter Kit" and any other requests for supplies.
Clean up Tracking Form
We will track your bags, your observations of bulk items, graffiti and vandalism that might occur in your adopted area.
Supplemental Registration Form
This form is to register minors that are participating in your clean up activities to protect you from any liability for those minors under the age of 18 years of age.

How to use MyLA311 App
REPORTING BULK ITEMS ON STREETS
1. Create A Service Request
2. Under Refuse & Pickups: Press Illegal Dumping Pickup
- Location: use cross streets or move the pin to the location - press done
- Description: Bulky Items and then find the item in the scroll at the bottom of the screen - press done
- Select Quantity number
- Select Location of the Item - scroll at the bottom of the screen - press done
3. If you have a photo - attach it but this is optional
4. Add any specific comments that will help them find the items
HIT SUBMIT and your request is sent.
You will receive a confirmation email to your contact information.
REPORTING GRAFFITI
1. Create a Service Request
2. Under Problems & Repairs: Press Graffiti Removal
- Location: use cross streets or move the pin to the location - press done
- Details: Select the surface
- Give the suggested removal method
- It will ask if it is located above the first floor
- It will ask if it is located on a Mural
- It will request who to contact, if known.
3. If you have a photo - attach it but this is optional
4. Add any specific comments that will help them find the items
